You can exclude products by flagging the order via your ecommerce store admin – e.g.: for Shopify stores via product tags.
Once added, any product with the excluded tag will appear as Unprotected in your Shipments tab.
How to Exclude Products by Tag (Shopify example)
- In your Shopify admin, open the relevant product
- Under Tags, add a unique tag that identifies the exclusion (for example, “no-insurance”)
- Save the product
- In the Merchant Portal, go to Customise Cover → Tags
- Select Edit
- Type the exact tag name and select Add
- Save your changes and confirm the exclusion
How It Appears in Shipments
When a tagged product is shipped:
- It will show as Unprotected
- The tooltip will display Product tag exclusion
If you remove the tag from your CMS, or from your exclusion list, the product will be covered again for future shipments.
Excluding Products by Category (Wix example)
- Identify the category that you would like to exclude from cover
- Click Edit in the Categories tab
- Type the name of the category you wish to exclude. Ensure this exactly matches the text in the Wix product category field
- Save your changes
- To re-commence protection of a category, click Edit and remove the category from the list by clicking 'X'
