Parcel Protect’s insurance is designed to protect your eligible shipments — but not every product or delivery scenario will qualify.
Understanding the limits and exclusions helps you avoid surprises and ensure correct coverage.
1. Coverage Limits
Parcel Protect covers goods for:
- Loss, damage, or theft
- Within Australia
- Up to $10,000 per item
- With no excess
- Including GST and freight
2. What Is Excluded (Based on NTI Policy)
Your insurance does not cover:
- Second-hand goods
- Live animals or perishables
- Dangerous or prohibited items
- High-risk goods classified under restricted categories
- Deliveries outside Australia
- Items exceeding the $10,000 value limit
These shipments will show as Unprotected in your portal. A full list of exclusions is outlined in the policy wording.
3. Platform Restrictions
Some exclusions come from your ecommerce store site rather than NTI, example the following withing Shopify:
- Age-restricted goods
- Prohibited categories (e.g.: weapons)
These will appear during onboarding and in your policy review.
4. How to Identify Excluded Orders
In your Shipments tab:
- Orders that cannot be insured will appear as Unprotected
- Hover over the tooltip to see the specific exclusion reason
This helps you understand and manage what’s covered and what’s not.
