Building community across the country
One parcel at a time
Merchant Stories
For these merchants, each order carries meaning and helps build trust to sustain their future.
Yet sending from remote areas can be challenging, and if a parcel is lost, stolen or damaged, it matters deeply. Protection along the way helps ensure those connections remain steady and strong.
Featherdale is a mother-and-daughter business run by Laura and Sue from their farm near Maitland in New South Wales. Together, they handcraft earrings, brooches and hat pins using ethically sourced, naturally molted feathers from the birds they raise with care.
What began as a creative project has grown into a business built on storytelling and connection. Each design reflects the beauty of rural life — the rhythm of the farm, the gentle cycle of nature, and the care that goes into every feather collected by hand.
Step onto Laura’s farm and discover the story behind Featherdale Earrings — a small business where creativity, family and community are woven into every feathered design.

From sourcing pieces overseas to carefully packaging each order, her business is built on connection and care. Every purchase represents more than a sale; it’s a moment of trust with customers that she deeply values.
Step inside Harry & Kit and discover how Lil is bringing extraordinary design and soulful style to the heart of the bush.
Kennedy The Label
Kennedy The Label was founded by designer and mother of four, Annabelle Kennedy, from her family’s farm near Nyngan in Far West New South Wales. From her home on the land, Annabelle designs vintage-inspired children’s wear that balances playful sophistication with durability and care, with each piece reflecting the rhythms of rural life and family.
Running a business from such a remote place is both inspiring and challenging. Orders are packed and sent from the farm, and during peak times — even in floods — Annabelle works to ensure her customers still feel the joy of receiving something special.
Watch Annabelle’s story and see how Kennedy The Label brings creativity, resilience and family to life in every design.
Parcel Protect was created to give eCommerce businesses peace of mind when sending their products, offering protection if parcels are lost, stolen or damaged in transit. Partnering with Buy From The Bush has shown us just how important that protection can be for rural merchants, whose handmade, one-of-a-kind products carry so much value and care.
Working alongside Featherdale, Harry & Kit and Kennedy The Label has made the stakes tangible — every delivery represents hard work, trust and connection with customers.

Buy From The Bush began as a way to shine a light on the creativity, resilience and potential that exists in rural Australia. It champions small business owners whose talent, hard work and vision help to crisis-proof their communities.
Beyond the dollars, Buy From The Bush is about creating visibility for small businesses in the bush, celebrating the possibilities of rural Australia and the people who live there. With the support of Parcel Protect, that mission feels even stronger. Together, we’re helping share a bigger story about what the bush can be.
Featherdale has been built by sharing little snippets of our life, and people feeling that they’re a part of that and understanding where the products are coming from.
It's not just a pair of earrings or it's not just a wreath. That bird the feathers came from is living on the farm; it's being looked after. I think it makes people feel good and they enjoy learning about it and being a part of it all.”
When I see an online sale come through, the love doesn’t stop there. We want these products to reach their final destination safely and soundly, because of that feeling of knowing someone has bought something that spoke to them.”
My hope is that customers open a package from us with excitement and joy – knowing that this piece is going to be for someone, for something special in their lives and that straight away they’re imagining that child in that outfit.”
We believe small business owners like Laura, Lil and Annabelle are special. Not just for their talent but for their potential to crisis-proof their communities. Each product they sell and parcel they wrap, is a sign that what they are doing really matters”
